Melissa – Grendene

Melissa

Melissa was born in 1979 from an inspiration coming from fishermen’s sandals, seen by Alexandre and Pedro Grendene on the French Rivieira and which would become the brand’s icon: the Melissa Aranha. Melissa’s trajectory began as a national fever and reached the level of world reference in plastic footwear.

A pioneer in collaborations since the 1980s, Melissa collects big names ranging from Jean Paulo Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld, Zaha Hadid, Campana Brothers, Vivienne Westwood with products that have been part of the brand’s history to more recent ones such as Jeremy Scott, Fila, Opening Ceremony, Viktor &Rolf, Y/Project plus many others.

It was the first brand to create a gallery-store, revolutionizing the concept of the flagship store. Galeria Melissa is more than a space where fashion, art and design come together and transform the space into a great cultural hub for the communities of São Paulo and New York.

Currently, Melissa is present in over 80 countries, with over 4000 points of sale abroad. The franchise project comprises more than 350 Melissa Clubs in Brazil plus 130 exclusive stores abroad, ensuring that consumers from different markets have access to the brand.
